Might be trolling, not sure. But regardless, many are taking him seriously. And he’s seriously messed up.
Equality Ohio sends us this press release:
This week, a 15-year-old teenager was severely beaten in his high school class room for being gay. The attack occurred at Union-Scioto High School in Chillicothe, Ohio, and was caught on camera as fellow class members watched one teen wait for the victim to enter the room, push him to the ground and continually punch him in the face. Two days prior to the attack, the perpetrator harassed the victim via Facebook regarding his sexual orientation. The victim has suffered a possible concussion and dental damage. The attacker was suspended from school for just three days.http://joemygod.blogspot.com/
Union-Scioto has no policy in place that specifically protects students from being bullied or attacked based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The Union-Scioto Local School District does have a policy that prohibits harassment based on sex, race, color, national origin, religion, disability, among others, but it does not specifically protect against harassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity.http://joemygod.blogspot.com/

Someone I once respected asked me if I wasn’t afraid that people would start thinking I was gay if I kept being vocal about my support of my LGBTQ family and friends. I told him he should probably stop hanging with me since I may be a vector. I’ve only encountered 2 kinds of homophobes:
1. Those who have religious issues with it.
2. Insecure heterosexuals.
Have you encountered any others?
?
The thing is, we don’t respect your view on abortion and the Holocaust. You say “respect my opinion and I will respect yours.” We don’t care to respect your opinion on something like that. You are disrespecting the millions of Jewish people who died in the actual Holocaust. You are disrespecting their memories, and their families by comparing the removal of cell tissue to the murder of living, breathing human beings. So don’t tell us to respect your opinions when you say such racist, classless, insensitive things. We don’t, and we never will.
This. Holy shit. As someone who is Jewish by blood, these Holocaust comparisons seriously piss me off. You don’t get to compare shit you don’t like to the Holocaust. You just don’t. It’s offensive and ignorant.
As pointed out by STFU Conservatives, this person is reblogging nearly every “We Are The 99%” post with hateful comments.
Example: A woman posts that her husband died of a heart attack. This asshat writes: “So the complaint I see here is that a small business wasn’t forced to give him health insurance. You realize that if they were, he probably wouldn’t have had the job, right? If their expenses go up, their hiring goes down. Wall Street didn’t kill your husband, his heart did.”
Unfortunately, there’s no ask box or submit. However, nothing’s stopping anyone from reblogging them. Just pointing that out.
Too many pages on Facebook advocate, support, trivialize or feed into rape culture. We know that normalizing rape and sexual abuse leads to higher and more frequent instances of these crimes. Facebook have defended pages such as “You know shes playing hard to get when your chasing her down an alleyway [sic]”, claiming that implied - or even explicitly stated - abuse, violence or rape against women counts as freedom of speech, rather than hate speech, despite heavy criticism for charities, Facebook users and advertisers.
Facebook’s response: “Groups or pages that express an opinion on a state, institution, or set of beliefs - even if that opinion is outrageous or offensive to some - do not by themselves violate our policies.”
We want to send a loud and clear message to Facebook that their tolerance of rape/assault will not be ignored. On Monday November 28th, 2011, we are all deactivating our Facebook accounts for 1 week in public protest. We choose this date because this is when companies really start advertising for the Christmas/holiday season.
We ask that along with deactivating your account for 1 week, you also boycott any and all companies and products that are advertised on Facebook until they stop tolerating the promotion of rape and sexual violence. Money talks and, by withdrawing funds, the companies will be putting added pressure on Facebook to stop tolerating the promotion of sexual violence.
Help send a unified message to Facebook that sexual violence is not a state, an institution or a set of beliefs; it is a abhorrent crime that occurs daily to millions of people. Facebook, by defending violent humour, is defending abusers/rapists.
Please pass this page on and invite everyone you know. Thank you.
